Efke is a brand of photographic films made by Fotokemika d.d. based in Croatia. Efke black & white films have high silver content, giving a large exposure range and high quality grayscale reproduction. They are also makers of infrared films IR820 which are more sensitive than regular infrared films. Efke films are more forgiving of exposure variations and allows enlargements from negatives with minimal grain.
In summer 2012, they have ceased production and there are currently some brave heros out there attempting to save the Fotokemika heritage and one of the last producers of classic high quality silver-rich black & white films.
